We are open for submissions until November 10, 2026!
When to submit
We accept submissions two times a year for our Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter issues.
What to submit
We are looking for high-quality fiction, poetry, creative nonfiction, and essays that will leave a lasting impression on our intelligent readers. We look for work that touches upon the topics of femininity, womanhood, identity, empowerment, and/or pop culture. These topics are nuanced, and we want to showcase their complexity. Whether your writing is funny, thought-provoking, or serious, please make sure it's the very best you can make it.
We do not accept any submissions generated by artificial intelligence. By submitting, you certify that your work is entirely your own.
How to submit
You can submit through Duosuma during our regular reading periods. We charge a reading fee of $3.00 for each submission. Please include a bio and/or cover letter.
If you're selected
We pay $25.00 for each fiction and nonfiction piece and $10.00 for each poem. As our magazine grows, our payments will, too.
Policy on AI
We are strongly opposed to publishing or using any artificial intelligence for any part of the magazine. Writers should not submit their work for consideration if AI was used in the creation of their work. If writers intentionally misrepresent AI work as their own, Literally reserves the right to reject, withdraw, or remove their work from the publication. Authors that repeatedly submit AI-generated work for consideration will be flagged and automatically disqualified for submissions in future issues. We ask all accepted writers to certify that they have not used AI and reserve the right to verify using third party services if there is any doubt.
We will never feed any writing into LLMs, nor will we ever use LLMs to screen submissions. Each submission is read and rated by at least two human readers.
